GRADUATE FELLOW FOR FALL 2017 - ACADEMIC ADVISING Start Date (first day of classes): Tuesday, September 5, 2017 End Date (last day of classes): Friday, December 15, 2017 Who should receive resumes: Saige Martinez, Administrative Aide, smartine@stern.nyu.edu Compensation: Compensation for the Fall 2017 semester would equal $7,200 for the semester (subject to tax withholdings) Description: The Stern School of Business Office of Undergraduate Advising is seeking a Graduate Fellow for the Fall 2017 semester. The time commitment would be 20 hours per week over 14 weeks. The Graduate Fellow role involves a variety of responsibilities, including: · interfacing with undergraduate students and other audiences in person, via phone and via email answering academic policy and curriculum questions, including Quick Visit advising · administrative and clerical tasks such as scheduling advising appointments, maintaining student file systems, data entry and spreadsheet management · assisting with event planning and production · developing promotional materials, creative campaigns and publications · overseeing all administrative components for a 0.5 credit internship course, including processing of student applications, notifications of class policy, syllabi updates, and inputting grades · other responsibilities as needed. This is a predominantly student facing role, and is a unique opportunity for graduate students interested in working in higher education administration. The ideal candidate has the following skills and attributes: · strong communication and organizational skills · an ability to work independently · attention to detail · positive attitude · adaptability and resiliency · creativity (PowerPoint experience at a minimum, but familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite [Photoshop, InDesign, etc.] is a plus!) · comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline-focused environment. Applicants must be able to commit to a set weekly schedule for the entirety of the semester.
