These paid positions are for 5 or 10 hours/week for the fall semester with the expectation to continue working in the spring, contingent upon performance. Hours are generally from 9am to 6pm with additional after hours or weekend hours on an as needed basis.

All Graduate Ambassadors should possess the following attributes:

  • Passion and pride for the Stern MBA program
  • Pure joy in helping prospective students figure out if Stern is right for them
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Knack for conveying what it means to be a Sternie to MBA hopefuls across email, phone, in person, and on social media
  • Knowledge of life in NYC, including the ability to recommend at least two superb NYC restaurants

Specific duties of Graduate Ambassadors may vary depending on time of year, but include:

  • Marketing the NYU Stern MBA program and recruiting prospective students by leading daily information sessions and tour, walking prospective students to class visits, and speaking with applicants
  • Assisting with special projects including competitive research, compiling data, and preparing and gathering materials for recruitment activities
  • Writing blog posts or creating short videos that highlight the student experience to prospective and admitted students
  • Supporting MBA Admissions events, special projects, and programs
  • Responding to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries from prospective students

The MBA Admissions GA selection process begins with a group interview where all applicants will deliver a 3-minute presentation to MBA Admissions staff and their fellow classmates who are also applying for a GA position. The pitch should speak to why you chose Stern and highlight one of your favorite experiences as a first year MBA.

Detailed information about the GA position will be shared at this group interview, and applicants will have the opportunity to ask current GAs any questions. A final round, individual interview with MBA Admissions will also be conducted as part of the hiring process. Offers will be extended in late April/early May.
