GRADUATE FELLOW FOR SUMMER 2020 - ACADEMIC ADVISING Start Date (first day of classes): Tuesday, May 26, 2020 End Date (last day of classes): Sunday, August 16, 2020 Who should receive resumes: MaryKate Chester, Administrative Aide, mchester@stern.nyu.edu Compensation: Compensation for the entire Summer 2020 semester (Summer 1, 2 and 3) would equal $4,500 (subject to tax withholdings) Description: The Stern School of Business Office of Undergraduate Advising is seeking a Graduate Fellow for the Summer 2020 semester. The time commitment would be 10 hours per week three summer sessions (Session 1, 2 and 3). The Graduate Fellow role involves a variety of responsibilities, including: interfacing with undergraduate students and other audiences in person, via phone and via email answering academic policy and curriculum questions, including Quick Visit advising administrative and clerical tasks such as scheduling advising appointments, maintaining student file systems, data entry and spreadsheet management assisting with event planning and production developing promotional materials, creative campaigns and publications overseeing all administrative components for a 0.5 credit internship course, including processing of student applications, notifications of class policy, syllabi updates, and inputting grades other responsibilities as needed. This is a predominantly student facing role, and is a unique opportunity for graduate students interested in working in higher education administration. The ideal candidate has the following skills and attributes: strong communication and organizational skills an ability to work independently attention to detail positive attitude adaptability and resiliency creativity (PowerPoint experience at a minimum, but familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite [Photoshop, InDesign, etc.] is a plus!) comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline-focused environment. Applicants must be able to commit to a set weekly schedule for the entirety of the semester.
