Stern Program for Undergraduate Research

Research ID: RS000059
Research Title: Exploring Effective Mentoring Programs
Description: Students will research mentoring programs within various organizational settings (including corporations and higher education) in an effort to identify the best practices and outcomes. A number of different types of mentoring models will be analyzed throughout the semester including, peer-to-peer and senior-to-junior. Additionally, one-to-one models, one-to-group models, and other hybrid models will be examined.

Students will create a feasibility analysis of the application of various models in the Stern UC and make recommendations to Stern’s UC leadership team. The feasibility analysis will be grounded in both theory and practice. Students will be expected to meet with the advisor once a week for one hour and will be required to spend at least 20 hours participating in research activities throughout the semester.
